It Started With a Love of Sewing And Fabric....
My name is Anne Aldridge-Baligian and I am the owner of Little Rhody Fabric. I live in the beautiful coastal state of Rhode Island with my husband Paul, and my youngest daughter, Abigail. I also have 4 adult children who have all flown the nest and two wonderful grandchildren.
I began selling fabric after my family-run business was shut down during the pandemic. My company had been in business for over 20 years and I suddenly found myself having to pivot, and pivot hard, to keep my business open. I began sewing fabric masks when face masks were in short supply at the start of the pandemic. As the demand for masks dwindled, I began to make children's clothing but could not find the types of prints I was looking for in my favorite fabrics...knit jersey and French terry.
Since that time I have begun dedicating all my time to Little Rhody Fabric. I search out European fabrics, mainly knits, that are not easily sourced in the USA, as well as designing custom seamless files that I use to print many of the Little Rhody Sewing Co.'s custom fabrics. These fabrics are offered here on my website and in my Etsy shop. I also make personalized baby and children's blankets, dolls, stuffed toys, and more.
I have been sewing for over 30 years and I am very particular about the fabric I use. As a mother of 5, and grandmother of 2, I have learned over the years that softness and durability matter. There is nothing worse than sewing up an article of clothing just to have it wear or fade quickly because the fabric wasn't good quality. My goal is to offer the highest-quality fabrics that will make hand-me-down worthy items for the children in your life.
I hope you enjoy looking through my website and that you will find some fabric that will inspire you. Happy sewing
